Don't think it's a bad idea. Suppose every party has their good days and bad days (referring to comment on Liberals actions in dunnmovinacres post). What the Liberals are doing here is not that big of a deal, especially if you have nothing to hide.
I think the gun registry is only in place to control honest people. If you're a criminal you won't follow the law anyways and I don't think you would register your guns anyways. Huge waste of money!!!!
I think they should keep the gun registry. It shows accountability for gun owners. If someone was to steal your guns, at least they are registered and the police may be able to identify them if they are found.
